Tony Africano
Tony Africano is the principal counsellor and therapist at "The Lindsay Centre" in Mount Lawley, Western Australia.
The practice has been in operation for some ten years and is the
venue for both one-on-one and group counselling sessions.
Tony's entrance into the healing profession has been a result of his
own personal journey and training over the past seventeen years.
He believes that a practitioner is best placed to deal with the
suffering and distress of others from not only ongoing and sound
theoretical training but also through knowledge of themselves.
As part of the professional preparation undertaken for this kind
of work he has undergone hundreds of hours of his own personal therapeutic process.
From this foundation he has developed a professional style that
is skilled, compassionate and sensitively attuned to each individual
client.
Tony is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Professional
Counsellors (A.I.P.C) and a Clinical Member of the Australian Counselling
Association (A.C.A).
He is also a full member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors
Association of Western Australia (P.A.C.A.W.A. Inc.) and the
Australasian Society for Traumatic
Stress Studies.
Tony
holds an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy from
the Churchill Clinic in Western Australia in addition to Australian-based
qualifications in counselling.
