An introductory seminar/workshop exploring definitions, symptoms and the effects of abuse and the subsequent trauma.

Material covered will include:

  • Types of Maltreatment: physical, emotional, psychological, neglect and sexual abuse.
  • Attachment, trauma and dissociation.
  • An introduction to treatment approaches.
  • A case study will also be included.

This workshop forms part of the Perth School of Psychotherapy and Counseling (PSPC) training program for psychotherapy and counseling and is also open to interested members of the public.

Participants will be invited to share their own personal experiences and/or clinical material, though there will be no expectation to do so. Places are strictly limited.
